Lady Falcons Defeat MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. - After getting off to a slow start, the team hit their stride with goals by Kiara Romero in the 28th minute and Michaela Nicholson in the 39th minute. Straight out of the gate in the second half, Nicholson scored again on an assist from Romero. The Owl's only goal came in the 60th minute. Hannah Garcia scored the Falcons' final goal in the 74th minute off of an assist from Nicholson.
"We were worried about our mindset coming into this game after a long day of travel and a game last night," Coach Joanie Dilbeck stated, "After a few minutes we were able to shake off the fatigue and get into a rhythm. These ladies gave 110% and it paid off. Now we have to refocus and get ready for one more game on the road."
Sophmore Striker, Hannah Garcia, said, "We knew going in that MUW would be our toughest game of the three [on this trip]. Keeping a good mindset, we were able to work together as a team and move the ball around utilizing every player on the field. When we work as a team and communicate effectively we are unstoppable!"
