MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Faulkner University Eagles defeated the Lady Falcons 3-2 on Saturday.
The Eagles made their way onto the board first with a goal in the 12th minute by Ainsley Lockwood, assisted by Alissa Confalonieri. Claribel Hernandez scored Florida College's first goal of the match in the 26th minute, and was answered with another goal from the Eagles in the 32nd minute. Hernandez closed out the first half with the Falcons' final goal of the afternoon to tie the match 2-2. Both teams fought hard for the win, but the Eagles ultimately came out on top after scoring the game winning goal in the 64th minute from Leah Villafuerte.
This loss marks the Lady Falcon's seventh loss of the season.
"It was not our best showing this year. An unfortunate injury threw us off of our mental game. We will regroup and move forward from here," said head coach Joanie Dilbeck.
The Falcons host (RV) Bellevue University on October 19 at 7pm.
